July 4th. The weather is hot. Kenlynn enjoys a tube trip down a river followed up by a nap. When sunset hits, she's already perched on a bleacher watching a demolition derby and eventually... fireworks. Credits.
The 4th has been my favorite holiday for quite a while. It has always been associated with good memories and good traditions (even if the traditions change every 7 years). I have to admit though, I'm not as patriotic as I sound like I should be with my favorite holiday being Independence Day and all, unless it's the Olympics ("USA USA USA USA...") then I bleed red, white, and blue...
This year wont be any different. I look forward to it almost as much as I look forward to Bear Lake.
People wonder why I choose this to be my favorite holiday. I suppose if I were to describe it, I would say, "It's like Christmas, except for it hasn't lost it's magic." I still get giddy the morning of the 4th and thinking of what the day will hold. And who doesn't love fireworks? Seriously. Also, if you have never been to a demolition derby, I highly recommend searching one out and going. I know what you're thinking; "That sounds lame." No, no it is not. I used to think the same thing until I experienced it. I will even go with you. It doesn't get much better than mud being sprayed, cars catching fire, cars being rammed into and flipped, and a crowd going crazy for it.
Huzzah for America.
