A lot of my runs take a long time to get into. I start out feeling slow and weighed down and stiff and unmotivated and all that crappy stuff. Today however, I felt I could have gone on running forever. The start was as easy as the finish, there was nothing holding me back. The only thing that could have made it better was if it was raining.
I am a firm believer that rain makes everything better. Think about it, would you rather.....
Play soccer or play soccer in a rain?
Kiss or kiss in the rain?
Dance or dance in the rain?
Run or run in the rain?
The latter is the obvious winner. First of all, if you are exercising in the rain, no one can tell how much you are sweating. Win. Second of all, it's just a magical moment, end of story. There is one time a year that it is not very acceptable for it to rain, and that is when I am at Bear Lake (23 days), but other than that, bring it on.
I'm loving this summer storm time. Lovely, just lovely.
Also, can we just be happy about the fact that fireworks are legal in this state. A little after midnight a few of us set one off in the middle of the apartment complex, it was more intense than I thought it would be. It was pretty good for a fountain I'd say. We managed to get most everyone out of their apartments and out onto their porches. It might have been a little bit cruel, but well worth it.
